Observation Metadata Workbook

€9.00

The most useful observation is one that remains understandable after the person who made it has left the room. Theo Nguyen’s workbook helps organise the context that belongs beside a record, from its original purpose to the meaning of an empty cell.

Build a collection passport, write a small data dictionary, and follow a fictional three-row example through timestamps, missing values, and quality flags. The selectable CSV is a teaching exercise, not an environmental dataset. An effort ledger separates what was planned, recovered, usable, and reviewed, so a gap does not quietly turn into evidence that nothing happened.

The later pages cover transformation histories, release versions, and a practical handover conversation. They also ask who has authority to share information. NOAA metadata guidance and the National Inuit Strategy on Research provide context without suggesting that an open-data preference overrides a locally determined agreement.

Format: one A4 PDF with selectable text, reusable tables, and space for notes. Designed for small observation projects, students, and anyone inheriting a spreadsheet. No instrument, archive submission, repository service, calibration record, or real dataset is supplied.

Demonstration item: Still North and its staff are fictional. The price is illustrative; no payment, order, or fulfilment is offered.
